What Is Functional Medicine — and Why Does It Matter for Chronic Conditions?

Functional medicine takes a fundamentally different approach. Rather than asking what medication matches this symptom, it asks why is this symptom happening in this particular person. This distinction is not philosophical. It changes what gets tested, what gets treated, and how long the practitioner spends understanding your history.
